A webmaster should not just make a website for a few readers. But targeting millions of readers from all over the world is not an easy work. Your web site has to be made search engine friendly, that is to say, it must meet certain expectations of the “crawlers” or “spiders” of search engines. The index that these crawlers have created will be used in ascertaining the status of your web site in terms of relevancy to the requests of users.
FIRST OF ALL, THE DOMAIN NAME CREDIBILITIES
You must have planned everything for your site before applying it physically don’t you? A domain name should not be too long or difficult to remember. It should relate to the content of your web site. Within the domain name, there should preferably be keywords that a crawler will understand. Abbreviations, dashes, underscores, numerals and other meaningless characters should all be avoided. OPTIMIZE THE FULL USE OF META TAGS
Description and keyword properties should be included in your headers’ META elements. META name=”description” content=”[brief description of your site]” is often used by search engines to find out what your site is all about. It will be beneficial to put yourself in the shoes of your customers. You can think about how they will go about searching for information, and you can subsequently choose appropriate terms that will capture traffic to your site. It is imperative to provide good and rich content on your web site. The content should always be keyword-rich, as this facilitates good classification of your pages by the search engines. FEED THE VISITORS, KEEP THEM UP TO DATE
Another tips is to encourage your visitor to subscribe to your site. Best way is to have site feed such as RSS or Atom. Feedburner is one of service provider that can empower your feeds and able to publicize, monetize and optimize your feed to the fullest. This way you can cut your time from wasting it to advertise other way to send updates to readers. One more things that need to be done is submit your feed to feed directories.
BUILDING LINK EMPIRE
Web sites that get incoming links do get a higher ranking. If these incoming links originate from a site with higher ranking and which perform well for key phrases that are related to your content, these are good links of quality that will push up the ranking of your site. They will greatly benefit your site. It will be to your advantage to request them to link back to your site. Everything on your site must be properly linked; all links must be functioning, because this will enable all of your content to be indexed. This shows a good strategy for search engine optimization in operation.
SUBMIT SITE TO THE WORLD
Your site must be registered with major search engines such as Google, Yahoo!, and Open Directory Project once it is sufficiently optimized. Instructions given by each search engine are different from one another, so it is important to follow instructions closely, to avoid having your site improperly indexed. FOOTER CAN INCREASE PAGERANK TOO
As stated in my older post (Get search engine rank with footer), its true that search engine also focusing on the footer of the page. It will be best if you put your key-phrases and some links on the footer of each page.
ENVIRONMENTAL FRIENDLY SITE
Your site is too full of contents plus heavy images, multi-medias to attract your visitor. Actually it’s not really useful. The right thing to do is make a crawler friendly pages. Don’t waste your time with applications of spamming strategies such as irrelevant metadata and hidden text. You won’t like it when you loose. Play it smart when you are in your zest aiming for higher search-engine rankings. Avoid strategies that offer the easy way out for getting good ranking.
LASTLY, JUST RELAX…
Simple word…Relax.. It may take some time to reach search engine No 1 spot. The time spent on search engine optimization for your web site will definitely not be lost just because the top spot is not reached yet. There are still numerous other ways of capturing traffic besides performing a little more tweaking of your site.
As the conclusion, your web site must be optimized for search engines, as this will help you secure a better search result, better site ranking, and not forgetting increase in site traffic. For your desired results, you will need to apply the strategies for search engine optimization listed above.

Just joking..If you like any of following plugins, just feel free to download them. I just want to list down all the plugins I loveto use and some review of it. The rest is some plugin that I feel somehow not really usefuland also some of review about the plugin.
1) Adsense-deluxe
This is my essential plugin everytime I create a blog, I will surely search for this plugin. Adsense deluxe enables you to put advertisements not only adsense, you can put other advertisements such as Text link ads, Chitika or Adbrite. You just neet to insert a tag like this < c1#adsense>. Later you can just ad the advertisement again inside other post without needing to copy and paste a lot of codes again and again. Visit this site to download.
2) Commentluv
I just found this plugin a week ago but I realy loving it. Many bloggers cannot see the importance of having backlinks or having their latest post title and link on other blogs they visited. This plugin can help you doing your link building as well as driving a lot of traffic to your site after seeing your post title on other blogs. Well thats SEO stuff..On the other hand, you might as well attract readers to leave a comment on your site to have their link on your pages. You can get commentluv here.
3) Pierre’s Wordspew
See the ajax shoutbox on my sidebar. Simple but yet a very nice shoutbox which I have a full control of it. Not like other shoutbox that you can grab from other providers, I can manage the post easily and it has spam filter too. Smiley icons that integrated to your blog.
4) Audio player
Many of us using this plugin to put audio streaming on their post. Very easy to use and manage. I love it and I use it on every blog I have as well. One thing that you should know is when you use this plugin, It will leave media enclosure inside your feeds. Its good for Ipod somehow. Some people will like it and some might not. Anyway its not the plugin’s fault, read here for instruction on how to remove media enclosure.
5) WordPress Related Posts
Also a very useful plugin to display related or random posts on your blog. But the most important is it can create link web through your blog. That means visitors will likely to view few posts per visit since they can see all the interesting posts on your blog. One thing people cannot see is the links to your posts can make the crawlers happy. Yup..Its quite important for bloggers who like to do SEO. You can see the post from Problogger putting link clustering withing your site at number 1 on his post of 10 Ways to Improve Blog Traffic in 30 Minutes or Less.
6) SEO Friendly Images
People might not see the usefulness of this plugin. This is a silent helper that automatically add alt= tag to images inside the blog. SEO stuff again.. :face5: It improves traffic from search results and makes them W3C/xHTML validas well. I guess it will be my essential plugin in the future as well.. :face4:
7) wp-cache
Actually it’s a nice plugin that can cache your pages for faster loading time. In SEO point of view, this would be a great feature since faster loading page means visitor friendly or even search engine friendly site. I do feel faster loading page….a bit.. :face6: Well at least it reduce loading time a bit for my site. Another reason I disabled the plugin is because I am currently modifying the blog layout. I need to clear the cache everytime I make any changes. Well..Anyway..Maybe it’ll perform better on your site. Feel free to try it out.
In case of emergency. This can be your blog savior. What else can I describe about this simple but useful plugin. Just install it and have your precious posts and setting at some place save.
9) Technorati Tags
Another blog to drive traffic from Technorati. This plugin can take your post wordpress tags (which is in default is used for page meta tags only) and show the tags inside a post as a technorati tags. This means the post will show up at technorati in included tags soon after you publish a post.
